What is planned?
Bergkamen is developing a mission statement, a common compass for the future. This involves the question of how our city should look and develop in the coming years.
Your and your views are crucial to this. The mission statement should not be created at a desk, but should be based on the knowledge, ideas and experiences of the people of Bergkamen. Whether young or old, new to the city or long at home here, every perspective is important.
Taking part is easy
You can enter your own ideas online and view the contributions of others in just a few minutes. On site, you have the opportunity to enter into direct dialogue and set priorities together. Every contribution counts and helps us to visualise what is important for Bergkamen.
Two events will take place in each of the six districts: The first in January, the second in March. After a brief introduction, there will be plenty of room for open dialogue. At these events, you can discuss ideas with others and shape Bergkamen's future together.
We welcome the participation of all generations and social groups, as everyone has something valuable to contribute. Children and young people are very welcome
Your view of Bergkamen helps us to shape the city of tomorrow.
Equally important are the experiences of those who have lived here for a long time and the fresh perspective of those who have only recently made Bergkamen their home. The cultural diversity of our city also enriches the entire process and reflects how lively Bergkamen is.
The result is a mission statement that incorporates all perspectives and lays a strong foundation for the future of our city.
Participate online
The digital ideas map is open around the clock. There you can mark places, enter notes and ideas and tag them with suitable keywords, such as mobility, green, climate, culture or safety. Photos and short descriptions help to emphasise your perspectives.
All entries are publicly visible. This allows us to quickly recognise which topics move many people and where Bergkamen is already strong today. Together, we can create a diverse picture of what characterises our town and how we can develop it further.

The results from the online participation and the events in the neighbourhoods will flow together and form the basis for the mission statement. Interim results are published regularly so that it is always clear what we have already worked on and how we are progressing.
